Authors with completed, professionally edited manuscripts are now invited to submit their work directly for consideration

"We're looking for stories and ideas that hold up to scrutiny and stay with readers," said Hugh Taylor, Editor-in-Chief of Apateon Press. “Whether it's a business book that changes how someone approaches their career or a literary novel that lingers long after the last page, we want to hear from authors who've put in the work to get it right. You don't have to be represented by an agent. Authors ask us, ‘Can I submit my book even if I don’t have an agent?' The answer is ‘yes.’”
The press is casting a wide net across genres. On the fiction side, Apateon Press is looking for action/adventure, crime and detective procedurals, historical fiction, mystery, suspense/thriller, literary fiction, and science fiction. On the non-fiction side, the publisher has a particular interest in business and management titles, along with memoir, history, politics, health and wellness, humor/satire, and reference works. Given the current market for career development content, Apateon Press is especially eager to hear from authors writing in the business, career planning, and personal development space.
The press will also consider submissions in romance, espionage, legal thriller, medical thriller, political fiction, dystopian, and western categories. Apateon Press does not currently publish horror, YA, new adult, fantasy, paranormal, speculative fiction, children's books, art and photography, or poetry.
Apateon Press prefers that manuscripts be previously unpublished and edited to professional standards, such as compliance with The Chicago Manual of Style. “We may consider works that are not 100% cooked, but we may send it back with comments,” Taylor added.
